Artificial grass is becoming a popular way to create a quirky and unique area that brightens up just about any indoor space. Perhaps you’re looking to jazz up your living space, or create a fun play area for your kids.
Or maybe your office could be brought to life with the help of some lush, green grass that gives you a fresh feel of the outdoors – inside! You can even install your own indoor putting green to help you get some extra practice in, and destress from work.
Whatever the reason, artificial grass can be a great way to freshen up any indoor space, and help inspire you by providing a soft, visually stimulating place where you can relax any time you desire.
Even your pets will love it, and there’s virtually no limit as to where it can be installed. We’ve even installed our fake grass in gyms and restaurants!
What are the options for installing artificial grass indoors?
Luckily, installing artificial grass indoors is relatively straightforward, with no need for digging and building up sub-bases and layers as required when carrying out a standard outdoor installation.
The first thing to do is to choose your ideal artificial grass (these come in various different styles and textures), and speak to an artificial grass specialist about your options.
For instance, you may wish to install a special shock pad layer, to ensure your indoor artificial grass will be lovely and soft, or you may just opt for lovely long grass if the area doesn’t allow for this (for example, if you have limited space under nearby doors).
A typical artificial grass installation involves:
- Preparing the area and ensuring the floor is clean and clear of any debris
- Installing a shock pad layer (optional) to create a soft, safe surface
- The laying of the artificial grass itself and ensuring a good fit
- Securing all of the joins with glue
Most indoor artificial grass installations cost just slightly less than you’d pay for a standard installation, at around £45 – £55 + VAT per square metre. This will depend on whether or not you opt for a shock pad layer.
