Are you wondering if you could add value to your property with artificial grass?
We get a lot of customers asking us about this, many of whom are thinking of selling in the next few years.
Most of them want to add value to their property, and add curb appeal, regardless of whether they’re selling, staying put – or just haven’t decided yet!
That’s why we thought it was a good idea to put together this blog. After all, you’ll want to be sure you’re getting the best investment.
As an artificial grass specialist, I’m going to tell you how artificial grass could indeed add value to your property.
How artificial grass can add value to your property
It’s no secret that installing artificial grass could add value to your property. But how?
Well, many homeowners take a lot of care when it comes to the inside of a property, but can often neglect the outside.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the biggest reasons artificial grass could be a great investment. Some of these, we’ve covered in previous blog posts, whereas others might be things you hadn’t even considered!
1. It’s becoming very popular
There’s definitely less of a stigma surrounding artificial grass these days. In fact, more and more people are wising up to the fact that artificial grass looks great, and has a ton of great benefits! This has caused a surge of sales in recent years, and potentially holds quite a great appeal to potential buyers.
In fact, according to the Telegraph, as many as one in 10 British homes now have artificial grass installed on their properties.
2. It’s aesthetically pleasing
Artificial grass looks great all year round, which makes it an attractive option for new buyers. It’s very realistic, and comes in a diverse range of colours. People are no longer worried about it looking tacky, or fake.
In fact, the grass we sell has actually won awards at the Chelsea Flower Show!
2. It’s low maintenance
Artificial grass is very low maintenance compared to that of a natural lawn. There’s no need to mow it, or use potentially harmful chemicals or pesticides to keep it looking fantastic.
For new buyers, there would be no pressure having to maintain or even fix issues with their new lawn. All the hard work would already have been done!
TIP: Check out our maintenance blog to get a better idea of the simple steps you can take to properly maintain artificial grass.
4. It can eliminate drainage issues
If your garden is plagued with drainage issues, it can lead to long-term damage and costly landscape repairs. Not to mention it makes your garden unusable!
The good thing about artificial grass is that it can completely resolve any drainage issues in your garden, so you can go back to enjoying it! (We’ve written a blog about this, too)
5. It won’t fade in the sun
Unlike natural grass, most artificial grass is guaranteed to be UV resistant. This means it won’t fade in the sun. Especially if your lawn is currently discoloured, installing artificial grass could immediately increase your property’s value and make it much more aesthetically pleasing!
6. It’s child and pet-friendly
Lastly, artificial grass can be ideal for children or pets to play on! It can even withstand pet urine, and won’t discolour – just a rinse with some water (you can also add a bit of soap). They also won’t try and eat it!
TIP: Rainfall can also help keep your lawn smelling fresh – never a problem in Scotland!
Some homeowners like to add a shockpad layer, so it’s extra safe for children to play on.
Advice from an artificial grass specialist
In my opinion, artificial grass can definitely add value to a home, for all of the reasons explained above. In fact, some of our customers have installed artificial grass for this very reason!
One customer approached us as they were planning on selling, but not for another year or so. They wanted artificial grass as it would add value to their lifestyle. And with a new dog, their lawn was constantly muddy, and getting patchy with urine stains.
They felt if they invested now, they would get the benefit for another year, and then appeal to more buyers when it was time to sell. In the end, they couldn’t get over the finished result, and how much it lifted the look of their property!
We installed our grass in the front and back of the property, and their home looked amazing. Now, it really stands out from other properties in the area, which I can only imagine helped to sell the property.
Conclusion
Artificial grass can be a great addition to any property, and could potentially add quite a lot of value. There are so many reasons why it would appeal to potential buyers – or you could just enjoy it for yourself! The choice is completely yours.
